Fisheries Ecology, Valuation
and Mitigation

The Fisheries Ecology, Valuation and Mitigation Component  (FEVM) is funded by Danida (the Danish Agency for Development Assistance) and implemented by the MRC Fisheries Programme.

The overall aim of the FEVM Component (formerly AMCF) is that management of the environment is improved to maintain inland capture fisheries production. Two main kinds of activities support this aim: (i) the collection and provision of information and (ii) support to environmental management and mitigation for fisheries. By providing information, the component also supports management of the fishery, which is the scope of the Fisheries Management and Governance Component (FMG) and the development of aquaculture of indigenous species, the scope of the AIMS 2 component.

The LARReC capture Fisheries Unit will undertake to carry out the following three activities

1. Fish catch monitoring

2. Fish market monitoring

3. CPUE data collection in southern of Laos
