1. Summary and Results of the Discussions

The group agreed to set up a core team, which should continue to line out tasks and structure of the CFWG. The core team will include one executive officer who can work for full time (who?), and people from involved organizations or institutions. The core group will continue to work out some keys question, which were prepared by Mr. Ly Chou Beang.

Danny commented that the core team should work out on these questions and come up with the proposal / concept note. Suggestions and agreements exist already (last meeting), they have to be put into shape and context.

The core team agreed to meet the first time on 15 July to discuss detail on those key issues. The meeting will be clarify the objectives and the tasks.

 

2. Report of the taskforces

Regarding benefit sharing the group suggested to collect some relevant documents from:

  1. CFSD refer to the guidelines including benefit sharing
  2. Nepal / FORMCOP
  3. CBNRM / PLG Ratanakiri
  4. GTZ-Kompong Thom
  5. Concern: generation income in others fields
  6. Royalty model from Germany

The task force will collect all background information related to benefit sharing to develop a proposal.

3. Report on Participatory Land Use Planning (PLUP) process in Cambodia

1. Course "Training of Trainers"

Objective: All participants have fully understood the concept, objectives and process of PLUP, and have improved their facilitation and training skills to the degree that they feel confident and capable to introduce PLUP to provincial and district staff by conducting training courses for facilitators.

2. Training of Facilitators

Objective: Build up capacities among government and NGO staff in a way that they will be able to initiate and support the process of PLUP on village and commune levels by working in multidisciplinary teams of e.g. 3-5 facilitators. The participants (facilitators) have acquired facilitation skills and the capability of practicing participatory methods. They have improved their communication and listening skill and team-working abilities, and have been introduced to conflict situations and legal issues as well as into their role and tasks as facilitators.
