National Land Agency BPN - Republic of Indonesia (1995):
International Workshop on the Implementation of Rural Land Consolidation

5.5 Closure

The above overviews present these following conclusions:

  1. That contingent to local conditions, the implementing of rural land consolidation in Indonesia, is still in its early and experimental stages of lands with references to RUTRW.
  2. Nevertheless, the result deserve prospective roles in terms of supporting national development, so as to sustain and perfect it.
  3. Land consolidation is an inter and cross-sectoral activity as it hungers for a well-coordinated and sound sectoral development.
  4. Rural land consolidation is a means to overcome the inefficiencies and unproductiveness of landholdings and landuse in the outer-islands of Indonesia.

The near future, the legal framework for land consolidation are to be perfected in terms of inter-departmental, and inter-sectoral comprehensiveness.
