Dear Colleagues,
SWAP (Success, Weaknesses, Aims, Problems) or SEPO (Succes, Echecs, Potentiels, Obstacles) has proved to be a successful instrument for supporting self-help processes in the population. It serves to design and strengthen participatory processes at the various phases of project design. The flexible applicability of SWAP/SEPO makes it useful for a large number of situations and project connections.
This is the quintessence of a study implemented within the farmework of a GTZ-financed measure in the activity area "International agricultural and tropical ecology research, innovation systems" to edit the experience gained with SWAP/SEPO rural development projects in Morocco and the Yemen.
A CD-ROM has been produced addressed to all persons involved with participatory approaches in the field and contains
- an introduction into the method and the underlying concept,
- a user guide for SWAP/SEPO users and traners,
- an evaluation of the experience gained in individual projects.
Please contact Ms. Helene Fleischer (Tel. 1446, Fax 7173, email: helene.fleischer@gtz.de) if you are interested in receiving this CD-Rom. It is planned to make this information accessible via the Intranet.
Yours truly,
gez. Beate Weiskopf
